As a Group Manager, you have access to Reports on the activity of the users you manage (i.e. those you have invited to the course).
|Activity Reports||Starts and Completions||Reports on activity starts and completions that occurred during a specific period of time. Can summarize by different attributes and drill down to get individual user details.|
|Participant Status Summary||Summarizes the status of participants for all activities. Can drill down to get individual user details.|
|Activity Detail Report||Reports on activity data for a specified set of users. User controls level of detail output.|
|Activity Usage||Reports on training content used by users during a specific period of time. Lists the active users and the duration spent in each activity and item. Can filter for a set of users.|
|Interaction Data||Export of the SCORM interaction data saved per user attempt. Some content saves question response data to the LMS through this mechanism. Interaction data is data received from the learning content and saved per user attempt. This data is specially helpful if content contains an assessment or quizzes. It will allow you to view data such as questions, responses, and scores for each item.|
|Assessments||Response Analysis Report||Shows the breakdown of responses and scoring for assessments.|
|Assessment Score Report||Reports on all assessment attempts during a specific period of time and includes section scores.|
|Logins||Active Logins||Reports on sessions that are currently active.|
|Login History||Reports on log ins that occurred during a specific period of time. Can filter for a set of users.|
|Login Summary||Provides historical log in statistics.|
|Other Reports||Locations List||Lists all locations and the number of users for each.|
|Users List||Lists all users. When exported to CSV or XML, all user fields are included.|
On the Reports tab, click Launch report for the report you want to generate.
When the report is first entered, it presents the Report Filters Toolbar showing the default filter values. You may change the filter parameter value(s) as needed.
- Press the View Report button to start execution of the report.
- You may also search a report for a string:
- Enter the string (wildcards are supported, strings are not case-sensitive) and click Find.
- To find the next occurrence of the string, simply click Next.
Every report has a filters toolbar that allows you to adjust the report output as needed.
Here is a list of the available filters across all reports:
|Date Range||The default reporting period is the past month to relative to the report execution date. You may modify the start date and end date. The Report Viewer also includes calendar controls to allow for selection of the dates. Note: The date range specified starts at the beginning of the day for the start date and ends at the end of the day of the end date. The report will then display user starts and completions within the specified date range.|
|Location||When locations have been specified for users, permits the report output to be filtered based upon the user’s location name. The string may contain wild card characters to permit matching on a full or partial string. When blank, no filtering is done on person’s location.|
|Department||When departments have been specified for users, permits the report output to be filtered based upon the user’s department name. When blank, no filtering is done on Department.|
|Job Title||When job titles have been specified for users, permits the report output to be filtered based upon the user’s job title. When blank, no filtering is done on Job Title. The field should be left blank if Job Title has not been configured for the licensee.|
|Type (of Content)||Allows you to specify the type of content to be included in the report output when types have been specified for your content items.The type of content may be Assessment, Book, Class, Course, Curriculum, Document, Evaluation, Exam, Lesson, Meeting, Module, Post-Test, Pre-Test, Program, Quiz, Reference, Study Guide, Survey, Tutorial, Video etc.|
|Options||This filter allows you to choose the status of the users and activities you want to report on. You may select from the following options: Select All, Include administrators, Include disabled users, Include deleted users, Include deleted activities, None|
|Group By||Allows you to group data according to certain functionality you've enabled. Examples: Activity, Location, Department, Job title|
|Activity Title||Allows you to filter based on the title of the activity.|
|Assignment Name||Allows you to filter based on the names of assignments in the LMS. Note that assignments must be active in order to appear.|
|User/Person Name||Permits limiting of report output to people with a LMS username, last name or first name that matches the specified string. When blank, no filtering is done on the person’s username or names.|
|Report Detail||The Report Detail filter controls how much detail is reported about each activity. It has 3 possible values: Summary and Items - report includes a summary row for each activity satisfying the runtime parameters and a row for each child item in the activity. Summary and Scored Items - report includes a summary row for each activity satisfying the runtime parameters and a row for each child item in the activity that is scored. Scored items are those that have any score values specified for their raw, maximum, or scaled scores (zero values included). Summary (default): The report includes a summary row for each activity satisfying the runtime parameters. Each summary row can be expanded to reveal a row for each child item in the activity.|
|Filter Details on Date||The Filter Details on Date controls which child item rows are included in the report. It has two possible values: No (default): The report includes all immediate children of reported activities regardless whether the child item was started or completed in the specified date range, and Yes: The report includes child items of reported activities if the child item was started or completed in the specified date range.|
|Activity Status||Activity Status The Activity Status parameter allows filtering based on the success status of completed activities. It has 3 possible values: Any Value (default): The report does not filter on the Activity Status, Failed: The report output includes only completed activities with a failed status and Passed: The report output includes only completed activities with a passed status.|
|Detail Status||The Detail Status parameter permits filtering of the Activities’ details based on the success status of completed items. It has the same possible values and default as the Activity Status parameter.|
|Account Status||The Account Status drop down allows filtering of the people reported based upon their LMS user Account Status. Choose from Enabled Only (default), Enabled or Disabled, and Disabled Only. Note that users who were deleted will be excluded from the report if they were deleted prior to the start of the reporting period.|
|Students Only||Allows you to filter users based on their user role i.e. student, group manager etc. Choose from Yes to only include students or No to include all user role types.|
|Item||Required to view learning item data. Click to select the learning item you would like to view data for. If an item does not send any interaction data to the LMS, it will not appear in the drop-down menu selection options. Content published for SCORM 1.2 does not send interaction data.|
Export report data
Now that you've configured your report and can view the details on screen, you have the option to export and save the report for future reference. You can export report data to a number of common formats including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat (PDF), comma separated data (CSV), and XML.
...to export a report
- Click on the export icon
- Select the format you would like to save it in from the drop-down menu
- The report will be downloaded in the selected format
- Open the downloaded file and save it to your computer
When exporting to Adobe Acrobat, the report will automatically be paginated. Each location will start on a new page. The Acrobat document contains bookmarks for each location and person included in the report output.
Select the CSV export option to have the report data saved in a comma separated data file. Each row of the file contains report data for one person for one activity and possibly one item within the activity (when activity detail is reported). The first row of the export contains descriptive column labels identifying the data.
|Word||Export a Word version of the on-screen report.|
|Excel||Export an Excel version of the on screen report. This is helpful if you wish to add more information or sort the information differently.|
|Export a PDF file of your report. Useful when needing to send a quick overview of the data.|
|CSV (comma delimited)||Exports CSV file that can be further sorted. Includes additional report fields that are not part of the printed report.|
|XML file with report data||Useful for transformation - XML to PDF, HTML, ePub etc. Includes additional report fields that are not part of the printed report.|
